Handwriting HTML code a great way to remember

I have done HTML learning on Code Academy, making this exercise more meaningful. Also I know that at Stanford CS exams are often handwritten to truly test students' coding abilities. I thought P2PU could've given more explanations before making people copy and recite.

  3. "Stanford CS exams are often handwritten to truly test students' coding abilities" interesting.

So do you hand write every code first to memorize? I think the one I had handwritten was "link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen". This one confused me so much.
