Some of these 146 companies are familiar like Pinterest, Lyft and Facebook. Some are unicorns with a foreign passport : Xiaomi, Kuaidi Dache (Chinese Uber). Some are straight out unheard of such as CureVac founded in Tubingen Germany making vaccines.
One thing for sure, these are no longer startups though they all have humble origins. They are shiny unicorns of massive valuations i.e. potentials of generating revenue. Some already do.
